ImmuneACCORD™ formulations contain the phytonutrients found in wine. The French Paradox and spices that reflect the reasoning for seasoning and caloric restriction or Blue Zone diets are high in phytonutrients that reduce inflammatory biomarkers, yield health benefits and lower incidence of disease. ?ImmuneACCORD is designed to capture many of the phytonutrient benefits of these four modalities.

The French Paradox

French Paradox reflects how a cultural selection for consumption of red wine high in phytonutrient content can help counter poor dietary habits and improve health.

The French Paradox is based on studies that showed the French suffer lower incidences of coronary heart disease, in spite of the fact that their diet is typically high in saturated fats.

This was first noted in 1819 by Irish physician, Samuel Black. However, the term "French Paradox" was coined by Dr. Serge Renaud, a scientist from Bordeaux University in France in 1992. When a description of this paradox was aired in the United States on 60 Minutes (1991) with the proposal that red wine, or alcohol, decreases the incidence of cardiac diseases, the consumption of red wine increased 44% and some wineries began lobbying for the right to label their products "health food".

Some health researchers question the validity of this paradox. Statistics collected by the World Health Organization (WHO) from 1990–2000 show that the incidence of heart disease in France may have been underestimated, and may in fact be similar to that of neighboring countries. In 2008 it was found that high doses of resveratrol (an element of red wine) mimicked some of the benefits of caloric restriction (including reduced effects of aging) in a study of mice.  (In part from Wikipedia)

The French Paradox argues that the phytonutrients in wine can yield health benefits. However, nothing works in isolation. Lifestyle, social activities, exercise and phytonutrient consumption all play a role. If someone likes the occasional glass of wine they might wish to indulge with friends or at a family meal in a rewarding and stress-reducing setting. The alcohol (in moderation) can also contribute to relaxation.

Modalities: A tendency to conform to a general pattern or belong to a particular group or category.
Phytochemicals are plant-derived chemical compounds under scientific research for their potential health-promoting properties. "Phytonutrients" are plant-derived essential nutrients scientifically confirmed as important to human health. -- Wikipedia.org
Synergy (from the Greek syn-ergo meaning working together) is the term used to describe a situation where the final outcome of a system is greater than the sum of its parts. -- Wikipedia.org
Homeostasis (from Greek: "to stand" lit. "to stand equally"; coined by Walter Bradford Cannon) is the property of either an open system or a closed system, especially a living organism, that regulates its internal environment so as to maintain a stable, constant condition. Multiple dynamic equilibrium adjustment and regulation mechanisms make homeostasis possible. The concept came from that of milieu interieur that was created by Claude Bernard and published in 1865. -- Wikipedia.org
In biology, the term epigenetics refers to heritable changes in phenotype (appearance) or gene expression caused by mechanisms other than changes in the underlying DNA sequence (hence the name epi - "in addition to" - genetics). -- Wikipedia.org
Fat located in the peritoneal cavity (abdominal area) that surrounds the body's internal organs.
A biomarker is a substance used as an indicator of a biologic state. It is a characteristic that is objectively measured and evaluated as an indicator of normal biologic processes, pathogenic processes, or pharmacologic responses to a therapeutic intervention. -- Wikipedia.org
Nutraceutical, a portmanteau of nutrition and pharmaceutical, refers to extracts of foods claimed to have a medicinal effect on human health. The nutraceutical is usually contained in a medicinal format such as a capsule, tablet or powder in a prescribed dose. -- Wikipedia.org

ImmuneACCORD technology is made possible by the ever-increasing scientific proof for a common role for abnormal inflammation in insult, injury and most disease, and scientific experimentation on the influence of dietary levels of plant phytonutrients on inflammatory pathways, the epigeneome and disease.
